Forge A Citadel With Blue Isle Studios

This summer, Blue Isle Studios, developers of Slender: The Arrival and Valley will be turning their talent toward a traditional fantasy setting. Their new intellectual property, Citadel: Forged With Fire is set to reinvent the open-world RPG. The gameplay trailer features broomsticks, dragons, magical combat, and sweeping visual shots of scenic terrain. Alex Tintor, one of Blue Isle Studio’s directors, acknowledged the ambitious and unfamiliar nature of the game, stating “Citadel is a completely new genre for us, our biggest goal with this title is to work closely with our community to build…

Momonga Pinball Adventures Review

Paladin Studios’ Momonga Pinball Adventures takes the concept of the old 80’s pinball machines and brings it to the mobile, console, and PC world, albeit with a cuter skin. All of the features that made pinball such a fan-favourite are there. Wild bumpers, side objectives, and a cumulative score are all present, though the presentation does away with acknowledging that it is, in fact, a game. Instead, the game is told through the eyes of a Japanese flying squirrel, or Momonga named Momo, whose home is attacked by owls. The…

The Final Word On The Final Station

The Final Station is an indie shooter/survival game by Do My Best Games, and it set out to change the paradigm of zombie survival games, which have as of late, been plagued by asset flips, and lacklustre game titles such as The Dead Town Of Walking Zombies. Rather than a third-person sandbox, The Final Station presents a two-dimensional, linear story of an unnamed protagonist, attempting to discover and subsequently survive a zombie apocalypse. Built in Unity 3, The Final Station‘s aesthetic is simple and clear. The protagonist contrasts well with…

The Nightmare Of NightmareZ: Review

NightmareZ is an indie platformer developed by Anamik Majumdar.  In the vein of early Sonic The Hedgehog titles, the player character moves from platform to platform by spinning through the air and bouncing off terrain.  The game’s levels are divided into stages, during which players must collect objects by zipping around the level, dodging enemies or killing them with projectiles fired with the spacebar.  The game’s controls are simple and feel a bit unresponsive at first, but are not insurmountable. Unfortunately, this is where the fun ends.  NitemareZ is done…

Steam Summer Sale Is Almost Here But The Excitement Isn’t There

It’s that time again where our wallets scream “please god no stop!” as we spend spend spend on the Steam sales. In just 2 hours a rush of bargains will flood our pages and I’m sure we’ll all fall for them but it’s not what it use to be is it? I’ve been a member of Steam since 2004 when I got Half Life 2 for Christmas on a Radeon 9000 Pro graphics card that could barely run it, but hey it was Half Life 2. Steam was but a…

Life is Feudal Forest Village Review

Recently I was looking for a video game to play like Banished, a classic town building game and I luckily was offered the chance to review a game that is similar but also unique, Life is Feudal: Forest Village. Life is Feudal: Forest Village is like many other building games out there, it has to resource gathering, building, management of property the usual you find in the games. This game is different though, it has all I’ve ever wanted in a city building game, the ability to become one of…

World of One Indie Showcase

World of One, developed by Grimwood Team is a puzzle, arcade platformer that will be available on the PC soon. When I first launched World of One it felt like the game Limbo from the look and the feel, but after a few minutes, it evolved into a game of its own. You start off on a sphere that represents your home and town, at least that’s what I thought. Starting out in your hut the looming adventure is waiting outside the door and what an adventure I had. I…

Lock’s Quest PC Review – Decent Port If You Have a Controller

My Initial Thoughts Having never played Lock’s Quest on the Nintendo DS when it was first released, the idea of a real-time strategy/tower defense was an interesting idea. When I first loaded Lock’s Quest, I was amazed at the graphics. Pixel art has always been able to stay somewhat relevant no matter how far graphics have advanced, but with all of the art enhanced in HD, everything in Lock’s Quest looked great. I started up a new game with keyboard/mouse for controls. And that’s where my problems began. The keyboard/mouse…
