The Marauder 7.1 Virtual Surround Sound Gaming Headset from Venom was released on the 18th of August this year with the capabilities of being able to play on the PC, Xbox 360, Ps3, Ps4 and Xbox One. I preordered a pair for my birthday and I can’t fault them at all. I wanted a headset that would really focus on the immersion in the games and movies. The headset from Venom worked a treat and also it was what I was looking for in a headset.
First off setting up the headset was fairly easy on the PlayStation 4 and PC, I am yet to try them on an Xbox One but I imagine it would be the same. Setting it up the headset at first was a bit tough but once I found the instructions on the website I managed. I put Fallout 4 on to test the capabilities of the headset and it was mesmerizing. The quality of listening to the apocalyptic world around me was stunning, it really managed to get me more immersed into the world and separate myself from reality. Other games and movies also performed very well. There was barely any noticeable static or issues while using them and they give a perfect cable length that can stretch quite far. The sound settings are also really easy to get to grips with. My only negatives I can think of is the number of wires it was confusing at first, on a positive note, once you’ve set it up and figured everything out for yourself, you’re good to go and it will never be an issue again.
Overall the Venom Marauder 7.1 Virtual Surround Gaming Headset is definitely one of the best budget headsets out there, the sound quality is better than my old expensive pair on the PC the Roccat Kave. It’s a simple and easy way to get fully immersed into a video game or movie of your choosing. It also includes a microphone that is also high quality and yet very tiny. Having this set and being able to switch from console to PC is one of the handiest things when you game on multiple platforms. The Venom headset costs £49.99 and you can buy it HERE.
